Ernest Hemingway, an american in Paris

In 1921, the 22-year-old Ernest Hemingway arrived in Paris with his bride, Hadley. He was a shy, good-looking young man, who tended to listen more than talk. He was living off his wife’s allowance and the income from occasional pieces written for a Canadian newspaper. They arrived at Christmas time, stayed a night in the Hôtel d’Angleterre (rue Jacob), then moved to their first apartment, on the left bank. We will visit it today. But this first time, they only stayed for a couple of months. Then they briefly went back to Toronto and returned to Paris in 1923 with their first-born son Jack. It is during that second stay that Hemingway wrote his most known novel about Paris, which will be our guidebook: A Moveable Feast. Come and discover on of the best guided tour !
